Keynote Releases Products that Help Operations Teams Make Better Mobile Applications

Keynote Systems, a company known for its mobile products for testing and monitoring applications, has upgraded its own Web monitoring application, Keynote Web Perspective (MWP) 6.0. The update will allow application developers to gather crucial information about their own mobile apps' usage of the Internet, allowing them to offer improved overall performance on mobile devices.

This is not the only thing that Keynote has up its sleeve, though. The company has also decided to release Mobile Device Perspective (MDP) 6.0 as a new entity that allows developers to mitigate issues within their mobile apps through the devices they run on. Networking capabilities while troubleshooting will not be emulated, and will instead be live, letting developers grasp what kinds of issues their apps connect with in the real world.

Aberdeen Group, a company that performs analyses of technology companies, has concluded through its own data that 62 percent of all organizations rely heavily on the Web via mobile apps. In fact, that percentage of organizations surveyed considers these apps a major part of what runs their businesses.

Companies relying on apps obviously need to know how they function and how their performance is affected through shortcomings in whatever it is they run.

It seems like Keynote has timed these updates perfectly, since Aberdeen Group has also concluded that more than half of businesses surveyed have intentions of implementing products that allow them to get the scoop on application performance by next year.

"Given these numbers, products like Keynote Mobile Web Perspective are useful to integrate into the Web development process,” said Jim Rapoza, senior analyst at Aberdeen. “Mobile applications are quickly becoming one of the main ways that people interact with businesses. These organizations will need to monitor mobile performance across the many different devices, networks, and mobile platforms that their applications will be used on."

Hopefully this news, as well as the timely release of MWP and MDP, will help Keynote rebound from its recent dismal financial situation.
