Polycom Keeps mBlox Connected Throughout Olympic Traffic

The Olympic Games in London might be causing crowding and traffic there physically, but Polycom is making sure that virtual traffic remains uncongested. With the Polycom RealPresence video collaboration solutions, the UK-based mobile commerce provider, mBlox is anything but blocked.

As most of London’s businesses are working remotely, mBlox is using Polycom’s technology to keep employees connected through video. The Polycom RealPresence solutions allow for video collaboration for workers away from the office, with software for desktop or laptop computers, tablets and smartphones that connects users into room-based systems. With it, mBlox’s employees manage to stay connected as easily as though they were in the office.

According to mBlox’s SVP of Production and Customer Services, Andrew Mutty, “At mBlox we are conscious of the need to empower our workforce by introducing mobile and remote working, and promote a flexible working environment as part of our normal business practice. Making full use of our IT investment in Polycom video collaboration solutions, as well as leveraging cloud-based video deployments in London, Singapore and California, ensures that it will be business as usual this summer at mBlox, as our employees can connect and collaborate face-to-face anywhere, from the executive boardroom and conference rooms, to mobile offices and beyond.”

This is where unified communication and collaboration is needed sorely, and Polycom hasn’t disappointed. No doubt many businesses are experiencing a slowdown while everyone is working remotely, but mBlox isn’t one of them. Being able to keep an entire business connected is an impressive feat, but Polycom RealPresence is handling it nicely; I’d say it’s taking home the gold in this event.
