Environmental Management Company Veolia Chooses FreeMove for Unified Mobile Services

Veolia offers environmental services such as waste, water, energy and transport on every continent. The company of over 300,000 employees needed a cross-border voice and data communications system to connect their network of companies.

FreeMove stepped in to help. The two companies signed a three-year agreement in June 2012, which enabled FreeMove to provide Veolia with high-quality voice and data communications as well as the latest M2M data transfer services.

FreeMove’s communications solutions enable payment systems and public transport networks for Veolia.

In addition, FreeMove will help Veolia to monitor air, water and heat quality while managing day-to-day operations, harmonizing mobiles and pricing across the Benelux region.

“Veolia were in need of an internationally integrated telecommunications provider that we could partner with over the next three years to deliver exceptional service and remain at the forefront of technological innovations within the industries in which we operate,” said Michel van Maanen, who serves as Veolia’s Director of Supply Chain and Business Improvement.

“We also wanted a provider that could offer a uniquely dedicated account management service and found that FreeMove was able to meet both of these needs, proving itself as the ideal match for our operations within the Benelux region.”

FreeMove is an alliance between Deutsche Telekom, Telecom Italia, TeliaSonera and Orange that serves over 400 million customers worldwide. Businesses using FreeMove have a Global Account Manager from their own market while taking advantage of the group’s international procurement and management structure.

As a result, businesses receive consistent service quality while benefiting from FreeMove’s economies of scale, which come from its presence in over 35 European countries. The telecom alliance’s total reach extends to 60 countries in Europe, the U.S., Asia and Latin America.

In addition to helping companies enforce cost and compliance policies that come with increased use of mobile devices, FreeMove also gives companies reporting concerning over- and under-used devices, roaming, real-time status reports and customized trend analysis.

“With mobile voice, data and M2M capabilities that already support multinational corporations across the globe, we are thrilled to extend our wealth of offerings to provide Veolia with greater efficiency, productivity and control, as well as seamless mobile communications to match their own global footprint,” said FreeMove General Manager Fabien Gustafsson.
