For Boston advertisers, the choice to turn to voodoo for help powering their businesses will no longer be regarded as insane, thanks to a recent announcement from VoodooVox.
VoodooVox is bringing out a new line of advertising specifically for the mobile market, bringing with it some new marketing angles and new attempts to not only make contact with potential customers, but also influence some buying decisions.
VoodooVox's newly-minted Mobile Advertising Services are geared toward giving local advertisers a chance to hit local people right where they live: in their mobile devices. Better yet, VoodooVox is backing up this promotional bonanza with both Remote Call Forwarding Line services and Caller Analytics services, which will allow users not only easier access to the companies’ advertising via the Mobile Advertising Services, but the ability to track calls by location, time of day and the like, giving advertisers a better idea of who's looking for what, and when they're doing so.
They'll be able to accomplish this step thanks to an agreement with JFL Marketing, who publishes the Community Connection Phone Book and Community Phonebook Company, providing an expanded overall digital range.
The principals in the arrangement appear pleased with the partnership, with VoodooVox's chief operating officer, Chet Chan, calling the arrangement “an excellent model for successfully migrating advertisers into mobile advertising across North America,” and JFL Marketing's chief operating officer Jason Capodanno, saying “With a partner like VoodooVox, we know we can deliver the value in mobile ads the way we deliver it in paid search, social, and our printed products.”
The stakes for such a development are high indeed, with the local mobile ad revenue market projected to roughly triple in just three years, from $1 billion in 2012 to $3.4 billion by 2015. Thus, putting the right ads in the right users' hands and giving advertisers the best chance at seeing return on their investment is worthwhile.
Mobile advertising also has great potential to improve return on investment by providing promotional material about a business while the potential customer is on the move, outside of his or her house, making them more likely to be near the business in question and thus more amenable to purchasing goods or services.
A customer who sees an ad for a place to eat at home may think “I need to try that sometime,” but a person who's already out and sees an ad for a place to eat may rather think “I should go there right now” – and they can, because they're already out.
Whether the combination of VoodooVox's package of services will work for their buyers remains to be seen, but it's a safe bet this particular move will pay impressive dividends.
