BigChange Launches JobWatch App, Improves Fleet Communication

BigChange, a company that aims to bring mobile apps into the mainstream for transport, fleet and field service operators, has introduced its first all-in-one 4G telematics solution and the first app that runs on it, the BigChange JobWatch Office App. JobWatch, as well as the whole BigChange system, is designed to connect drivers and fleets to the office seamlessly.

The solution includes a rugged mobile computer, mobile communications to black box GPS vehicle tracking, Sat-Nav, work and delivery management, timesheet, expense recording and vehicle expense recording. As such, it is indeed a complete solution for helping companies plan, manage and schedule their workforce.

Furthermore, since the cloud-based 4G telematics system is delivered in a software as a service (SaaS) model, the overall costs of mobile computing are greatly reduced as JobWatch eliminates the need for individual software packages and multiple hardware solutions.

The JobWatch app runs on IP54-rated BigChange seven and four-inch fixed-mount or portable computers that feature integrated tracking. Meanwhile, the software is modular by design, allowing users to enable or disable specific features as needed, also allowing for easy upgrading through the addition of new apps in the future.

"JobWatch speeds cash flow by confirming job completion and enabling same day invoicing. It also optimises mobile worker time, enabling up to four more jobs a month to be completed and saving eight hours of admin time for each mobile worker. It will also save money by reducing fuel use by as much as 10 per cent, travel time by around 10 hours a month for each member of the mobile team and ensuring zero job failure," said Martin Port, founder and CEO BigChange, in a statement.

BigChange began its life very recently in December 2012 when Port, the founder of U.K.-based vehicle tracking company Masternaut, with the aim of using 4G telematics to improve communication between fleets and fleet managers.
