Rohde & Schwarz to Offer Test Solutions for Mobile Network Operators

Rohde & Schwarz (R&S), a supplier of solutions in the fields of test and measurement, broadcasting, secure communications and many others, announced on Wednesday that it will be offering the first ever integrated end-to-end test solution with IP and Protocol Statistic Analysis for smartphones.

“With the recent acquisitions of SwissQual and ipoque we have extended our existing portfolio to now offer a uniquely integrated set of test tools from a single source for the different stages of the network lifecycle,” Christian Leicher, president and COO at Rohde & Schwarz, said in a statement carried on the company’s website. “This integrated approach not only brings efficiency to our customers but also helps them reconcile the demands of subscribers with their financial objectives in a demanding business environment.”

According to RF Globalnet, R&S will be pairing up with ipoque to integrate precise application awareness to the devices in question. By using ipoque’s PACE software, R&S will identify recurrent patterns and use the findings to organize protocols and applications on the network.

This news comes several days after it was announced that Rohde & Schwarz will be collaborating with Dolby Laboratories, to provide audio test technology to Dolby and its licensees. Rohde & Schwarz will be simplifying Dolby’s comprehensive compliance test that all licensees must pass in order to launch new products to the market.

Established almost 80 years ago, Rohde & Schwarz is an independent group of companies specializing in electronics that has a global presence in over 70 countries. It is a major supplier of solutions in the fields of test and measurement, broadcasting, radio-monitoring and radiolocation, as well as secure communications.
