Contactually Takes to the iPhone

Contactually, a contact management service, has released an iOS app that coincides with its updated service Contactually 2.0. The service is unique among other contact management services in that it pulls in all contact information from IMAP-connected email accounts like Gmail, Yahoo, AOL and Microsoft Exchange (2007+). The service then searches the Internet for information from social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Klout, Quora, Flickr, Foursquare, Tumblr and Skype, integrating the data into the new online address book.

Contactually 2.0 tracks how often contacts correspond and their level of priority, based on the frequency and speed at which users respond to or follow up with a contact.  “Actions” are a special feature of the service that will remind users when they should be following up with a contact. There is also an online dashboard with email notifications that will remind users of this. Team sharing is another nice feature the service provides.

In the new updates, users can share Web content with their contacts using a browser bookmarklet, in addition to creating email templates that can be used with the most frequent contacts. Users can also introduce contacts to each other in a professional manner. The new iOS app allows mobile access to Contactually accounts, and comes with the ability to log calls made from the iPhone. The company reports that Android and iPad app are coming soon.

A service like this is perfect for job seekers, looking to make contacts, maintain them in new or current industries, as well as for sales representatives, who need to be up to date on their clients and even PR specialists.

The service starts at $19.99 a month but does have corporate accounts. In March, Contactually raised $1 million in seed funding. It is backed by Point Nine Capital, Boston Seed Capital, 500 Startups and angel investors.
