Sprint Acquires Handmark and OneLouder

Sprint has apparently taken some steps to improve its Pinsight Media company with the acquisition of Handmark and its subsidiary OneLouder Apps Inc. Both of the companies are expected to help Pinsight Media in advertising services targeted towards the enterprise market. The two companies are also expected to come in handy in improving the telecom’s branding and application development.

With the takeovers of the two firms, Sprint looks like it is focusing more on emerging products and services in the mobile application market. The company seems to believe that the growing demand of mobile phones will further drive the demand for mobile data services upwards.

Sprint, being one of the leading smartphone sellers in the United States, is in a unique position to be able to read the tea leaves in this particular regard. The company also believes that innovation is following desire closely when it comes to mobile app development, and the market will only get stronger as more areas have access to Sprint’s LTE network.

Handmark is considered one of the premiere mobile app developers on the market. The company has also demonstrated a very real ability to change the way they develop and what they develop based on what the market will bear. In November last year, the company rolled out new political applications that were geared towards news junkies. These applications were customized depending on what side of the aisle the user felt they were politically.

In regards to getting better LTE coverage, Sprint continues to expand to new markets. Currently boasting as many as 88 different LTE areas, the company expects to add about 200 million customers and 170 markets in 2013.

Sprint has set its sights on further expansion in the mobile application market and the LTE markets with the impending acquisition of Clearwire. That company specializes in enhancing LTE and 4G networks.
