Oncam Grandeye's OnVu360 Surveillance App Exceeds 10k Downloads

In less than a year, Oncam Grandeye's OnVu360 surveillance app has surpassed 10,000 iTunes downloads, making the security and technology company one of the top providers in the remote and mobile viewing of security systems.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the iOS application provides customers with access to Oncam's 360-degree surveillance cameras at any time of day on their iPhones or iPads.

OnVu360, which was introduced back in November 2012, consists of a variety of features including de-warping technology and a gesture-based de-warping functionality; zero latency and the ability to change perspective by using the pinch-to-zoom capability on iOS devices; an unlimited list of camera profiles to monitor all of the 360-degree IP cameras; grouping of cameras intended to provide for easy navigation; support for 1-megapixel, 2-megapixel or 5-megapixel camera streams; support for Oncam's full line of cameras, such as Halocam and Evolution; a snap to mode to manually update cameras when using a cellular connection; and the ability to reset a current de-warped stream by shaking the mobile device.

While the app is free, there is a top in-app purchase of a starter pack of up to five cameras for $24.99.

Oncam's compatibility with mobile devices is one of its main benefits and has helped make it a leader in surveillance industry.

"Recent advantages in mobile technology have allowed us to develop on platforms others never thought possible—many other companies are trying to follow our lead," Adam Pineau, director of systems engineering for Oncam Grandeye, said in a statement. "Our patented, 360-degree de-warping technology is a truly groundbreaking experience that you need to see and touch to believe, and we see it as a game changer in the surveillance arena."

Pineau explains that there has been an "overwhelming" response to the Oncam Grandeye's mobile de-warping technology and that company is planning to introduce many more technological innovations in the future.
