Even without stats and studies, it’s a pretty safe assumption that using tools that can boost performance when it comes to learning will lead to positive outcomes. As technology improves, in devices for students or in educational software, tools for teachers to better administer information or apps on handhelds, technology can make better students for tomorrow.
A new Kickstarter campaign for TJ’s World, a mobile “super app,” is looking to do just that and more, but focuses on early education for kids ages 2-7. Built on the idea that early education is the foundation for success, TJ’s World aims to use technology to help children through their most formative years with a cross platform, cloud-based “learn as you play” super app. Cloud-based means the creators behind the app can constantly expand the educational library of apps.

TJ’s World gets its name from the cartoon character TJ, an animated pencil that speaks to young kids as a familiar object, making learning easier and more relatable to their age group.
Harnessing the power of play, TJ’s World is also designed to develop STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) skills in young children. STEM has several economic benefits for society, as students in these programs go into the workforce as skilled workers and researchers who can make constructive contributions in their field of employment.
The U.S. statistics for STEM education are lacking at best; math and science scores are behind in comparison to other nations, so early STEM education is imperative for a successful educational future.
TJ’s World curriculum includes math, language arts, science, health and safety and creative arts, among others.
The Kickstarter campaign will be used to fully develop the app, create the first eight curricula, and eventually launch to the public.
