A provider of comprehensive corporate banking services in Poland, BRE Bank, has utilized Smith Micro Software to connect its employees’ laptops to 3G and 4G Wi-Fi networks. The company’s QuickLink Mobility enterprise connectivity solution was recently rolled out by BRE Bank, which will simplify mobile broadband access to over 1,000 field employees.
According to Smith Micro Software, QuickLink Mobility allows BRE Bank’s mobile workforce to maintain an always-on connection as they move across different types of network coverage. This is true regardless of what type of device is being used for the connection.
It is designed to simplify both administration and support for BRE Bank’s IT team. QuickLink Mobility is carrier-agnostic, meaning that it replaces multiple connection managers from device manufacturers and operators. This in turn, will reduce support costs and enable the IT department to offer consistent functionality to all 1,000 plus end users.
The QuickLink Mobility platform is comprised of the following components:
- Unified client software for both connectivity and security features and policies
- Deployment server for configuring and updating the client with connectivity and security policies
- Security gateway for VPN connections and session persistence
QuickLink Mobility is built on the same core technologies used in Smith Micro’s Experience Manager platform. It aims to help mobile operators, device manufacturers and enterprises simplify, secure and enhance the mobile experience while optimizing network and device resources. Smith Micro's Enterprise Mobility platform helps organizations to regain command and control over mobile devices and wireless connectivity. This is particularly useful for BYOD environments.
Dan Rawlings, chief revenue officer of Smith Micro Software, had the following to say: "Many service industries, including financial institutions like BRE Bank, need dependable wireless connections to maintain security and productivity for their mobile workers. As the leader in carrier-grade connectivity solutions, Smith Micro offers unique capabilities to large enterprises who don't want to deal with the complexity and support costs associated with multiple connection managers from multiple carriers and device makers."
