Pontis Contextual Data Service Solution Aims to Increase Data Service Adoption

The lucrative mobile data services market is experiencing a shift as communication service providers (CSPs) try to balance between the increased data consumption of consumers and access to LTE networks. Hoping to help operators navigate this change, Pontis has introduced a continuous contextual engagement solution.

According to the company, its contextual analytics, engagement and execution solution is designed to increase mobile data service adoption, open new monetization opportunities with over the top (OTT) partners and optimize customers' service experience.

The Pontis solution helps CSPs develop application-based models for their data pricing, offering products and promotions based on subscriber habits. For example, by identifying a user who regularly watches high-definition video — an activity that requires a lot of data — an operator could offer that subscriber a plan that offers unlimited video stream for an extra charge. Another benefit is preventing unexpected bill charges — helping maintain positive customer interactions and, hopefully, improving customer retention.
