Mitel Focusing On Mobile Enterprise Portfolio Platform

In a world where developing for the mobile enterprise is becoming quite a lucrative business, the companies that were able to jump into the market before it became huge are going to have an edge. Mitel is one such company that just announced it is jumping into the fray with a rather comprehensive offering of real-time business, cloud and mobile communications solutions. The company is now going to be focusing on products and services that can be used for mobile enterprise companies wanting to work through the cloud.

Mitel has been making its intentions known for quite a while when it comes to its mobile-first strategy. This announcement just underlines how truly interested the firm is in making sure that approach is successful. Among the offerings is a tap-to-connect communications and collaboration tool that is optimized for use with smartphones. This means any smartphone, whether talking about Apple, Android, Windows or Blackberry. This is a mobile first version of MiCollab which puts together unified communications software on a mobile platform for easier access and utilization.

These new mobile offerings are especially useful when you’re talking about the hospitality industry. Mitel’s Hospitality solution allows for companies to link a guest’s smartphone to the hotel’s network. This way the guest can actually use their smartphone as their room key. There are other services that allow this as well, but Mitel goes the extra mile to actually allow customers to use their smartphone as their hotel voicemail, as well as for speed dial functions and location based services that apply specifically to the hotel and the town that hotel is located.

Mitel claims it already has more than 1.6 million users of the Mitel cloud communications suites. Among the companies Mitel works through are 15 of the top 20 mobile carriers in the entire world. When the company can boast that kind of customer base, it can stand out from the pack when looking to take the mobile enterprise market by storm.
