Xirrus EasyPass Streamlines Wi-Fi Connectivity for Office 365 Users

We now work in our offices just as much as we do outside. When we are on location, Wi-Fi access becomes an important tool to communicate and collaborate with colleagues. But the process of finding the right connection that is safe and integrates with the applications we use can be difficult. Xirrus, provider of next generation Wi-Fi networks, has just announced a new cloud management feature that will simplify the way you can use Microsoft Office 365 on Wi-Fi with a single sign-on (SSO) as part of its EasyPass suite of access services.

An SSO lets you use one set of login credentials to access multiple applications. This eliminates the need to keep logging in with a user name and password, in this case for Wi-Fi and Office 365.

By integrating with Microsoft Office 365 authentication, EasyPass will simplify and speed up the process of delivering Wi-Fi access through the cloud-based Microsoft system that is already in place.

EasyPass combines authentication through the Microsoft cloud ecosystem with local Wi-Fi network access to not only ensure the security of its users, but to also improve performance and lower costs associated with authentication services. The Microsoft login credentials now provide access to the Xirrus Wi-Fi network with an SSO experience.

“Getting users seamlessly connected to Wi-Fi so they can stay productive remains one of the biggest challenges that IT staff faces today. Xirrus EasyPass with Microsoft Office 365 integration simplifies the ability to connect different devices through one set of personal credentials that employees already use for their business applications,” said Jeremy Kushner, CEO, BACS Consulting Group, Inc.

EasyPass is a cloud-based service that streamlines IT operations to work seamlessly with any device and operating system. According to the company, it makes it possible to onboard devices with five times fewer steps than competitive solutions in the marketplace. It doesn't require any agents/certificates/applications, because it dynamically creates secure personal Wi-Fi networks with a one-click portal for simple guest access.

With Microsoft Office 365 subscribers increasing from 12.4 million to 22.2 million between Microsoft’s fiscal Q3 2015 and Q3 2016, there will be more people using Wi-Fi to access the applications. Installing and maintaining authentication systems is expensive and hard to maintain. The Xirrus EasyPass Microsoft Office 365 integration will solve a problem enterprises will be facing as they migrate to the cloud and their employees collaborate with colleagues or work remotely.
