Yesterday, ITEXPO kicked off at the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. There were a number of sessions and IT leaders present, but one of the most notable events occurred when Chris Drake, CTO at iconectiv, delivered his keynote speech.
His keynote address, titled “Never Underestimate the Power of Identity,” gave an overview of the crucial role an individual’s mobile identity can serve for identification and authentication purposes in a complex digital economy. In the keynote, Drake focused on an individual’s telephone number, and how it can be used as a primary defense against fraud and other consumer harm.
“Millions of connections between people and things occur daily: calls, texts, social media, financial transactions, sensor-driven events,” said Drake. “With all of that continuous activity comes one constant that an individual’s mobile identity can reliably provide efficiency and protection as our connected society continues to grow exponentially.”
Drake is more than qualified to speak on this topic, given that iconectiv is a major player in the fraud and identity space. The company is known for providing fraud and identity solutions to service providers and enterprises to combat illicit A2P messages caused by grey routes, SIM box fraud, and much more. Therefore, who better than the CTO of the company to discuss the importance of mobile security?
Additionally, Drake has more than 25 years of industry experience. Aside from his position as CTO at iconectiv, he also serves on the board and executive committee of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) and the Industrial Advisory Board for the Security and Software Engineering Research Center (S2ERC IAB) through Georgetown, Ball State University and the National Science Foundation. As if those positions aren’t impressive enough, he was also recently named to the 2017 Board of Directors for the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA).
Drake is just one example of the impressive leaders attending ITEXPO this week. There are a number of others exhibiting, giving keynotes, participating in panels, and running sessions on a variety of topics. It’s guaranteed that there will be at least one topic of conversation interesting to you, so come on down to ITEXPO to visit with the exhibiting companies and listen to insights from some of the most influential leaders in the tech field.
