Pulse Electronics, a provider of electronic components, announced the launch of its new vehicular mount antenna for long term evolution (LTE), 3G, 4G, WLAN, and GPS applications.
Leveraging the GPSDM700/2500FFS, operators who use multiple frequency bands such as 698-960, 1710-2170, 2300-2700, 1575 MHz can cover in one compact 3.5” tall, 4.16” diameter at base antenna.
Operators can utilize Pulse Electronics’ antenna for multi purposes including voice, mobile data, fixed broadband, navigation, asset tracking, fleet management, LTE, and 700 MHz public safety applications, company officials said.
“This new antenna is ahead of the field, offering 4G and LTE operation combined with WLAN and GPS in such a small package,” said Elaine Baxter, marketing manager for Pulse Electronics Wireless Devices Division, in a statement. “It will enable our customers to differentiate their products and future-proof designs by offering 4G and LTE capability ahead of wide-scale deployment.”
The rugged GPSDM700/2500FFS antennas with UV and IP-65 protection are expected to ensure a long, reliable, maintenance-free life. They are also RoHS compliant.
The antennas have separate cables to create maximum application flexibility. Antennas have 3 cables to optimally support the different technologies. A single low-loss RG-58 cable will support wireless voice, data, and LTE frequencies. WLAN operates on a separate RG-58 cable, while the GPS antenna has its own RG-174 cable.
The broader 698-960 and 1710-2170 MHz bands have a gain of 3 dBi, while 2300-2700 MHz WLAN band has a gain of 6 dBi compared to the industry standard 2 and 4 dBi. The GPS LNA gain at 3V is 5 dBic/25 dB and at 5V is 5 dBic/30 dB.
Recently, Pulse Electronics announced the launch of its active global positioning system (GPS) antenna with global 3G functionality including GPRS, GSM, UMTS, and WCDMA. The W4150GG5000 antenna can be installed with either side facing up so only one antenna is required, whether mounting on the windshield or dashboard, to make installation simple.
The 4G Wireless Evolution Conference will be collocated with ITEXPO West, the world’s premier IP communications event, to be held Sept. 13-15 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, TX. Now in its third year, 4GWE has become the industry's premier gathering place for Mobile Network Operators, fixed carriers, handset manufacturers, mobile internet device manufacturers, application providers, the enterprise, and venture capitalists.
