Alepo and Dimension Data Launch Utande's 4G Services

Collaboration with Dimension Data has been announced by Alepo. Internet service provider Utande will be provided 4G data services across Zimbabwe through this collaboration. Alepo is a top provider of control plane and business management solutions for next generation services. Dimension Data is one of the foremost system integrators in the industry.

Utande’s existing network will be used by Alepo and Dimension Data to create a convergent network environment. The delivery of 4G services over WiMAX, Wi-Fi and high-speed Metro Ethernet will therefore be enabled. For the first time, two veteran telecommunications vendors, Alepo and Dimension Data, have collaborated for this project.

In a release, Calvin Menyennett, CTO, Dimension Data, said, “We are very pleased to partner with Alepo to launch 4G services at Utande. Alepo’s proven core network solutions and industry experience are true assets to this project.”

The convergent charging and billing platform, Service Enabler, will be implemented by Alepo. The company will also implement its 16e AAA Server for real-time policy and subscriber management. Customers will be able to register for services with Alepo’s Subscriber Portal. Customers will also be able to manage their accounts online with Alepo’s Subscriber Portal.

A carrier-grade Wi-Fi Hotspot Management solution will be also provided by Alepo. A Wi-Fi hotspot network can be therefore easily expanded by Utande through partners and resellers. Utande will be able to readily support the growing needs of Zimbabwe’s residential and business consumers with Alepo’s open and endlessly scalable solutions.

Jonathan Garini, VP, Products at Alepo, said, “The collaborative effort by Alepo and Dimension Data to deploy 4G services will afford Utande the competitive edge to be positioned as Zimbabwe’s premier Internet service provider.”
