Livewire's Android App for Mobile Operators Enhances Content Experience for Users

In an attempt to cash in the holiday shopping craze, Livewire Mobile, has announced the introduction of two new Android apps.

Curated by Livewire Mobile's own staff of regional content experts and powered by a real-time content management platform, the music and games store apps have been designed to bring hot trends and new releases to the mobile consumer.

The apps demonstrate Livewire Mobile's extensive content catalog that contain top names in the sphere of music and games. The apps enable smartphone and tablet users get on-device access to content services integrated with their mobile carrier. The users can access them via merchandised charts, browse and search features, editorial content, reviews, previews, and a download manager.

Livewire plans to release an upgraded version of the app in Q1 2012, company officials revealed in a press release.

In the next release, Livewire plans to further integrate other content types, including ringbacks, ringtones, and videos with social network integration and recommendations. The games and apps store is queued up to include multiple billing options including try and buy, rental subscriptions, in-app billing support as well as multi-game bundles in its next release.

“These new apps are another example of Livewire Mobile's aggressive push into the smartphone, tablet, and application space where there has been tremendous worldwide growth. With an extensive catalog of multiple content types, carrier billing integration experience, a first-class content publishing team and an agile product development team, Livewire Mobile has established itself as a player in the application ecosystem,” president and CEO of Livewire Mobile Matthew Stecker explained in a statement.

The company informed that both apps are available now across a wide range of Android handsets at Three UK where Livewire Mobile powers multiple content services.

Livewire Mobile claims to empower the mobile content ecosystem through its worldwide network of customers, including mobile operators, OEMs, brands and media companies. The company claims to have the ability to connect consumers with the right content in the right place at the right time, across multiple devices. In an attempt to cash in the Android boom that is predicted to continue through 2012, Livewire is planning for several additional application deployments in early Q1 2012 across Livewire Mobile's existing carrier and OEM customer base as well as in the direct-to-consumer market. The company expects to enhance its new Mediadrome service through these deployments.

Earlier this year, livewire reported a renewal of a strategic partnership with a major worldwide telecom equipment and services provider and offered to supply the newly released ringback solution -MyCaller 4.0. In an earlier press release, Matthew Stecker, explained “Since 2004, this collaboration has driven over $25 million in revenue directly to Livewire Mobile, and in renewing this strategic partnership, we’re reaffirming our commitment to our global customer base, opening the door to a new world of opportunities for growth and further expanding the reach of our solutions in the marketplace.”
