Verizon Wireless is offering Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the first smartphone powered by latest Android 4.0, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. It incorporates a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and a 5 megapixel camera. The Nexus comes with a super AMOLED display that offers a display size of 4.65-inches with 1.28 million pixels.
Other attractive features of Nexus include 4G LTE capability, 0.37 inch ultra slim format, easy face unlock, and quick and easy sharing of contacts, websites, apps, maps, directions and YouTube videos with friends and other people close by. In addition, NFC technology embedded allows the user to hold two NFC enabled Android 4.0 phones close to each other and touch to beam and share information.
In addition, another interesting characteristic of the Nexus smartphone is Face Unlock. With this novel attribute of the Galaxy Nexus, the user can simply unlock the phone with a smile. No complicated passwords to remember, just switch on your phone and look into the camera to quickly unlock your phone, reports The Bellingham Herald.
As per this report, the Ice Cream Sandwich OS brings some software tricks to the gaming apps. For instance, panoramic images can be captured in a single fluid sweeping motion, and it enables a rapid fire mode. Plus, there are a plenty of settings to enhance the gaming experience, wrote The Bellingham Herald.
“The Nexus may not have the most megapixels, best battery life, or fastest processor. What it does have is Google's vision,” wrote The Bellingham Herald reporter Mathew Fortner.
Some other key specs of Nexus highlighted by this report include support for LTE/CDMA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 32 GB storage, 1 GB RAM memory, video recording in 1080p, micro USB, accelerometer, gyro, compass, proximity/light, and barometer.
