ESCORT Announces Technology Collaboration with Verizon

Verizon Wireless and ESCORT will assist public safety first responders in monitoring, managing and answering emergency calls.

Both companies have announced a technology collaboration to this end under which Verizon's 4G LTE network and the ESCORT SmartOffice Mobile Rugged PC will interface with public safety and emergency response command centers.

Headquartered in West Chester, Ohio, ESCORT Inc. is a manufacturer of high-performance radar and laser detectors. The ESCORT SmartOffice Mobile Rugged PC is a single, integrated, in-vehicle, solution that improves safety and productivity, while reducing operating costs for public safety, consumers and fleets in a significant manner.

The complete, portable, office solution provides full PC functionality with Verizon 4G LTE Internet connectivity, navigation and Bluetooth.

Moreover, it also offers mobile credit card processing, a barcode reader, an RFID reader and digital TV capabilities. 

The Mobile Rugged PC can be used for private, commercial and industrial applications.

The new collaboration between ESCORT and Verizon will be on display in the Verizon booth at the 2012 International CES.
