CradlePoint Intros New 3G/4G Enabled Router Solution for Retail Market

CradlePoint, a provider of enterprise connectivity solutions, announced the launch of a new 4G-enabled router with an integrated modem. Dubbed as ARC Series, the new router solution capitalizes on its 4G LTE Certification from Verizon and is designed to provide retailers with business grade networks.

ARC Series of routers has the ability to support 3G/4G either using an external modem or by using its new ARC solution with integrated 3G/4G and its patented cloud-based WiPipe Central remote management software.

The dual-mode 3G/4G connection gives retailers the flexibility to deploy a single solution at all company locations. It can leverage 3G in locations where 4G networks are not yet available. This “drop-in” 3G/4G network failover solution is an ideal overlay option that can be implemented on top of any existing network infrastructure to enable continuous uptime. It can also work as a primary connection in a retailer network.

The announcement was made at the National Retail Federation Conference (NRF), where the company also announced the widespread deployment of CradlePoint’s suite of wireless solutions within the retail sector. The demand for CradlePoint’s solution is driven by the growing number of high-bandwidth applications on networks.

George Mulhern, CEO of CradlePoint, said, “Our customers’ use of the ARC series for high-speed connectivity and failover combined with WiPipe Central remote management software provides an end-to-end solution that addresses the connectivity needs of distributed enterprises everywhere. Thanks to our growing list of enterprise retail customers and technology partners, CradlePoint is the de facto standard for excellence in connectivity in the retail sector.”

CradlePoint routers work as a wireless backup service to a retailer connection, helping them prevent revenue loss and negative customer experience. It will ensure that all mission critical applications, including transactional, will continue to work if the primary wired connection is disrupted. The router solution also results in smaller footprint, thanks to the modular configuration and smaller 4G modem.

Recently CradlePoint, in association with Verizon, showcased CradlePoint routing solutions powered by Verizon Wireless at the recently concluded CES. Access to the Verizon 4G LTE network is possible through CradlePoint routers and adapters which utilize Verizon Wireless external USB data modems.
