Laird Unveils Base Station Antenna for WiMax

Laird Technologies, Inc., a company that specializes in the design and supply of customized performance-critical components and systems for advanced electronics and wireless products has just launched its new 3.5 GHz Dual-Slant 65-Degree Base Station Antenna for WiMax, the Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access.

Laird Technologies has been creating antenna designs that offers good value and performance ration. WiMAX Base Station Antennas are available in 700MHz, 2300-2700MHz, 3300-3800MHz and 4900-5850MHz. To date, the company has been offering high-gain sector antennas with horizontal beamwidths of 45, 60, 90 and 120 deg.

The new 65-degree base station antenna, as the company says, is in compliance with the latest WiMax industry standard and is ideal for any carrier or broadband wireless access (BWA) supplier deploying WiMax.

WiMax, Broadband Wireless Access and WISP markets can have a huge gain from this newly-launched antenna.

Dual-Slant 65 is a powerful Antenna designed as per the needs of the operator and offers polarization diversity by maximal-ratio combining, helping to ease the impact of multipath that often results in poor coverage areas. The optimized beam shaper and well-controlled side lobes reduce interference, and provide coverage in high-density areas for fixed and mobile access.

Added to this, the new WiMax antenna offers uniform energy distribution to all users within the coverage area.

“Laird Technologies is a leader in the industry and we are committed to providing the most up-to-date products that meet the ever-changing industry standards,” said Monty Rohde, director of product development at Laird.

Unlike other antennas, Laird Technologies’ new Dual-Slant WiMax Antenna offers antenna-to-antenna co-located isolation which allows the product to be placed in the most appropriate position, the company says.
