SkyPilot has announced a promotion on a SkyGateway that allows customers to save $2,000 on a SkyGateway when they trade-in a base station from another vendor and upgrade to SkyPilot for their unlicensed wireless network.
SkyPilot Networks provides carrier-class broadband wireless equipment that allows service providers, municipalities, and public safety agencies to deploy cost-effective network services, voice over IP, Wi-Fi hotspots, video surveillance, and other wireless applications.
According to Brian Jenkins, vice president of marketing at SkyPilot, “Our recent announcement of the SkyConnector Mini and the SkyConnector Pro caused a lot of ISPs to rethink their unlicensed wireless deployment plans. With this promotion, we're simply trying to lower the cost for WISPs who wish to upgrade their broadband wireless network to SkyPilot.” SkyPilot makes use of a patented multi-hop point-to-multipoint architecture that synchronizes high-gain directional antennas to extend reach, mitigate interference, and maximize spectral efficiency.
The SkyPilot solution offers quick time-to-revenue and a compelling return-on-investment by extending reach, routing around obstacles, and increasing deployment flexibility. This helps in reducing equipment and operating costs. The SkyPilot products provide a highly scalable and reliable wireless mesh network.
SkyGateway series is a carrier-class base station that also provides backhaul for remote SkyExtender base stations through integrated multi-hop networking capabilities. This series now provides a greater range of options for service providers and municipalities to deploy one wireless infrastructure that’s serves multiple private and public sector functions.
The SkyExtender series is a high capacity base station that incorporates point-to-point backhaul, point-to-multipoint base station, and multi-hop relay device into a single device. This series allows service providers and municipalities to achieve high return on investment by deploying multiple private and public sector services over a common network, including the support of public Wi-Fi access, first responders, and mobile agency staff communications.
