ZTE Corporation Launches High-Speed HSPA Data Cards

ZTE Corporation announced the launch of two innovative cards as part of its high speed packet access (HSPA) product family. The MF662 is a compact HSDPA+ data card which provides enhanced data speeds for consumers.

The MF645 is a USB TV data card which allows users to watch digital TV from a laptop using mobile broadband connection. ZTE provides telecommunication equipment and network solutions to customers worldwide.

The MF662 has been designed especially for HSPA+ networks which are based on 3G network technology. Users will benefit from a very fast broadband connection with the adapter offering download rates of 21.6 Mbps (up from 14.4Mbps on HSPA) and upload rates of 5.76 Mbps.

The ZTE MF645 is a very small TV data card and is also a plug-and-play data card. This USB modem allows consumers to watch digital TV on a PC or laptop using a 3G connection. The MF645 offers a download rate of up to 7.2 Mbps which provides a viewing experience similar to traditional TV sets.

“HSPA+ is an important step in network evolution as it will lead to lower connection cost, giving consumers access to innovative and effective services. More importantly, it will help carriers test out the business case for next-generation networks, opening the doors for LTE,” said Zhang Yadong, general manager of data cards, ZTE Corporation.
Yadong added, “ZTE is reinforcing its leadership position in the HSPA market by announcing two innovative data cards that will provide consumers with a superior user experience.”

HSPA+ is expected to provide high download and upload links enabling greater capacity as present day services need high-bandwidth. Downloading music, film clips, 3D interactive games with multiple players and other mail services actually need more network speed and capacity.

ZTE supplies HSPA data cards selling more than 10 million data cards by end of last year. ZTE manufactures 3G and WiMAX data cards for HSDPA, HSUPA and HSPA+ as either multimedia data cards or embedded modems.

The MF645 TV data card measures 93 x 28.8 x 12.9 mm. Its download rate is up to 7.2 Mbps and up load rates of up to 2Mbps. The dimension of the MF662 HSPA+ data card is 69 x 27 x 12 mm.
