Fox Racing Doubles Distribution Center Productivity with Vocollect

Vocollect Inc., a provider of voice solutions for mobile workers, recently announced that its ties with Fox Racing in an effort to double its productivity at its distribution center have come to fruition.

The companies had launched HighJump Warehouse Advantage for effective warehouse management and Vocollect Voice to achieve this goal. Vocollect claimed that the company had managed to achieve its targeted returns on investment in half the expected time.

Fox Racing is a manufacturer of apparel and distributor for motocross, BMX, wakeboarding, surfing, and mountain biking. Fox Racing had made agreements with HighJump Software and its authorized business partner Vitech Business Group, Inc. to control and optimize its warehouse management system (WMS). These decisions were made in an effort to improve the order selection process at the company's two distribution centers (DCs) in terms of adaptability, flexibility, speed and accuracy.

"Vocollect Voice was a natural fit with HighJump's supply chain execution and enterprise methodology," said Keith Batt, president, Vitech Business Group, in a release. "Our combined offering accelerated the payback on voice and achieved dramatic bottom-line results.”

When the company discovered that RF-scanning was not able to deliver the desired level of productivity gains and that it could not secure the desired flexibility from pick-to-light, it reviewed Vocollect.

Fox Racing selected Vocollect on the basis of its track record of providing industrial-strength services, its certified direct interface with the HighJump WMS solution and the financial stability of the company.

"We had reached the point where we would be forced to turn business away if something didn't change, and change quickly. We simply didn't have the bandwidth to keep pace with our rapid growth," said Robby Dhesi, director of distribution, Fox Racing Inc. "Vocollect helped us reach a higher level of performance on every goal we set, and now we should be able to achieve our growth objectives across North America and internationally.”

"Based on our initial success in using Vocollect Voice in our picking operation, we have now applied it to the tasks of replenishment, put-away and cycle-counting,” Dhesi added. “We're excited about the potential to find even more ways to leverage our Vocollect investment to drive bottom-line results and gain competitive advantage.”
