Fortress Technologies Expands its Certified Training Program

Looking to help its clients to manage secure wireless networks, Fortress Technologies has expanded its certified training program to allow participants to create secure wireless networks using Fortress products by providing in-depth lectures, and hands-on lab work to practice the methods.

As the demand for indoor and outdoor secure communications grows, the service providers and customers are finding it necessary to update their skills. To attract more customers, the service providers need to have the latest and detailed knowledge about their products and services.

Fortress Certified Training courses are held at Fortress' headquarters in Tampa, Florida or at a customer/partner location.

The Fortress Certified Training includes intensive courses that require a general understanding of network technologies/topologies, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model, network device functionality, and security concepts. It also includes an intermediate knowledge of Wireless Local Area Networking (WLAN) and RF fundamentals.

“Fortress Certified Training was originally launched in December 2008 as a two-day training course focused on properly establishing and managing secure wireless networks,” said Matt Collar, a professional services manager at Fortress. “The response to this training has been overwhelming, and attendees are now requesting additional educational opportunities that offer a deeper dive into other related topics. To meet this demand, we are expanding our training program”

According to Fortress Technologies, its Certified Training course offers intermediate knowledge of Wireless Local Area Networking (WLAN) and RF fundamentals. They are helpful to administrators and engineers who plan to create secure wireless networks using Fortress products. The course consists of Wireless and Site Survey Fundamentals; Fortress Certified Administrator; Fortress Certified Engineer; and Fortress Security Overlay.

The company recently announced that it is supporting a Wireless Reach-Back (WRB) project for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Program Manager for Training Systems (PMTRASYS), in Orlando, Fla. WRB will provide wideband wireless capabilities in support of fixed and mobile users on USMC tactical training ranges, enabling them to pass critical information in a dynamic environment.
