Turkcell, a communications and technology company based in Turkey, recently launched the Turkcell tablet. The tablet boosts a sleek appearance featuring a lot of music, TV and magazine content.
Turkcell has been the first among the global operators to have implemented HSPA. It offers up to 43.2 Mbps speed via the Dual Carrier technology. It aims to provide the latest technology to its customers and will soon be able to offer the speed of 84 Mbps in the future.
The tablet has been produced in collaboration with Pegatron. With an interface designed by a team of engineers from Turkcell Technology, the tablet has Turkcell applications and uses the Android 4.1.1 JellyBean operating system. Its resolution is impressive at 1280x800 and has a 10.1" Wideview IPS LCD screen. A Turkcell Fun Package has been specifically developed for the tablet which offers services from Turkcell TV, Turkcell Music, Turkcell Magazine and Turkcell Library. These services can be accessed on the Turkcell screen by the users.
There are over 50 live TV channels and more than 300 movies to choose from the Turkcell TV Cinema Package. Users can listen to songs from Turkcell Music and can share and create playlists. It has over three million songs and the user will be able to download 50 songs free of charge per month for 24 months.
Turkcell thus provides total 1,200 free songs to tablet users. The Turkcell Library which has over 4,000 books provides seven books and Turkey’s most popular magazines free of charge. Speed of up to 43.3 Mbps is available on Turkcell’s high quality mobile broadband services on 99 percent of Turkcell’s 3G network available in 81 cities across Turkey.
Turkcell’s chief consumer business officer, Emre Sayn emphasizes the goal of making mobile Internet and smartphones accessible to a wider audience. He also indicated that they have plans to increase their sales from the current 700,000 units. He added that they have looked into every detail of the tablet and have come up with a product that delivers a fast, high quality and superior mobile Internet experience. He concluded by saying that they aim to meet an important need in the market with the Turkcell Tablet, with its high quality performance and functionality.
Turkcell tablets are available to Turkcell customers for TRY59/month on a 24-month contract in Turkey. The price includes Turkcell Fun Package content and the tablet comes with a special leather case and 250 MB TRT27 Internet package.
Songs downloads, movies from the cinema package and viewing live TV channels is not reflected in the Internet consumption.
