Jive's Latest iPad, iPhone and Android Apps Aim to Marry Productivity with Mobile

When smartphones and tablets began picking up steam in the enterprise space, many wondered just how effective these stripped-down devices could be in terms of actual productivity. Putting aside the advances made in recent years in terms of mobile VoIP, mobile productivity apps have helped add the level of capability that seemed missing from mobile devices only a few years ago.

For example, Jive Software has released a whole new suite of mobile apps geared toward helping people do their jobs more effectively while on the go. These offerings — available via iPhone, iPad and Android apps — offer a fast, convenient way to create content, research and take action all from a mobile device. In other words, Jive's new suite allows users to create content on these devices rather than viewing content that was created on a PC.

"Jive has succeeded in making mobile work for work," said Nathan Rawlins, vice president of product marketing, Jive Software. "Smartphones and tablets need to offer more than just the ability to read updates and provide quick responses back. With employees traveling more often and working remotely, it is critical that they have the ability to actively participate regardless of what device they use. Jive is transforming the mobile experience from a passive experience to real productive collaboration anytime and anywhere."

Jive recently received Morgan Stanley's "CTO Award for Innovation" for its cloud-based platform that aims to help lines of businesses be more productive, communicate and collaborate better, and adapt existing business system processes.

Jive for iPad is a completely new native app that allows for tracking progress on key projects and staying in sync with teams via custom streams. Meanwhile, a rich-text editor makes creating new content a snap.

Jive for iPhone has existed for a while now, but has received a significant upgrade which includes a 50-percent speed boost. This app includes much the same experience as the iPad app, but also features tweaked navigation geared toward working on a smaller screen.

Finally, Jive Present for iPad and Android is meant to streamline field sales and employee training, compliance and enablement by allowing sales leaders to equip global teams with consistent content updates. This information is then integrated with the sales team's CRM tool, which grants access to sync activities and notes.
