Mobility Tech Conference Brings Big Names to Spectrum Sessions

Representatives from AT&T, Verizon, Google and More Raise the Bar on Spectrum Allocation Discussion

NORWALK, Conn. – August 14, 2012 – Mobility Tech Conference & Expo added big names to its conference program to tackle one of the most pressing issues in mobile broadband: spectrum allocation, TMC and Crossfire Media announced. Mobility Tech, collocated with ITEXPO in Austin, Texas, on October 3-5, 2012, features robust educational tracks focused on 4G/LTE and wireless backhaul, and BYOD (bring your own device)/Wi-Fi.

At Mobility Tech, attendees will hear from experts in the spectrum arena and understand how spectrum alternatives will help providers deliver mobile broadband services and applications. Bruce D. Jacobs, Partner at Pillsbury Law, leads the opening session “Making the Most with Spectrum at Our Hands,” featuring Chris Pearson, president of 4G Americas, Hank Hultquist, VP Federal Regulatory from AT&T, and Rick Whitt, VP and Global Head of Public Policy and Government Relations for Motorola Mobility. The panel covers issues associated with spectrum availability and allocation during a time of tremendous device and application growth.

Following this discussion, Bill Goodman, Director – Technology for Verizon, Ivelin Ivanov, founder of Mobicents, Glenn Laxdal, VP of Technology & Advanced Solutions for Ericsson North America, Alan Quayle, Consultant, and Mark Wuthnow from AT&T, take the stage to discuss “Developing the Ecosystem for Service Innovation.”

Aparna Sridhar, telecom policy counsel at Google, leads “Making a Rich Mix of Spectrum” on day two of the conference. Sridhar presents the relationship between ISPs and spectrum and potential synergies within the sector.

"Mobility Tech speakers and session leaders are bringing a new level of education to our attendees,” said Carl Ford, co-founder of Crossfire Media & VP of Content for Mobility Tech Conference & Expo. “This unique educational experience will give attendees the power to improve their business and tackle the ever-changing mobile Internet ecosystem. We are seeing the entire wireless ecosystem change as Wi-Fi takes the roll that GSM use to have of being the universal world wide solution. As we look at the future of mobile we see that the balance of Wi-Fi and 4G LTE solutions is more than off load but service management."

Other sessions taking place at Mobility Tech Conference & Expo include LTE and Roaming, Reaching the Customer Small Cells, Hot spots and Carriers and Air Travel and Wi-Fi. A full agenda is available online.

Attendee registration is now open and early bird pricing is in effect for the month of August. Companies interested in exhibitor or sponsorship opportunities should contact Matthew Gleeson at [email protected] or 203.852.6800 ext. 145. Contact Ashley Baster for media registration.
