AT&T Offering Half-off Discount on Most Popular Smartphones

Despite already being one of the top smartphone providers in the United States, AT&T is far from resting on its laurels. While it was once the only U.S. company able to carry devices such as the iPhone, it has seen its hold on that particular market slip away. Since then, the company has had to find new ways to lure people into buying its higher end phones. Today the company announced that it will be offering a 50 percent discount on its phones which are normally priced in the $99 to $199.99 range.

That range includes phones like the iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S and the HTC One, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S4, the S4 Active and the Blackberry Z10 just to name some of the most sought after phones these days. As always, there are some conditions that have to be met. The company requires shoppers who are taking advantage of this new, limited time offer to sign a two-year contract. Previously the company was offering $100 off a customer’s previous phone, now if someone wants to take advantage of this new offer in-store, they must bring in their old phone and that handset must be three years old or newer.

AT&T is joining other retailers in what seems to be a summer of savings for people who want to get the most popular smartphones around, especially when talking about the iPhone. Walmart is currently offering the iPhone 5 for $129 and the iPhone 4S for just $39 as long as you sign a contract with a new carrier. Best Buy is offering up the iPhone 5 with a $50 discount and several Android devices are also deeply discounted.

AT&T has not said how long this particular promotion will last, so if you are looking to upgrade, it might be smart to do it now.
